OFFERING SUPPORT

Dāna, (pronounced “DAH-nuh”), the Pali word for generosity, is a foundation for the development of compassion and wisdom.

The Buddha taught that practicing generosity is part of the path to awakening and different from the usual exchange of paying for a service or offering a tip. When developed and reflected upon, generosity brightens the mind and opens the heart.

Our Open Door Meditation Community depends on the generosity of its members. We welcome you to become a sponsor, benefactor or give a donation to enable our teaching to be free for those unable to give dana at this moment in their lives.

Along with a financial contribution, another way to give dana is through service. Donating your time and energy is an expression of compassion for others and a way to ensure that the Dharma continues to grow both for ourselves and others. If you would like to give support through service, consider joining one of our committees. Learn more here.

However you choose to give dana, know that it will support this growing community with its weekly teachings, retreats and programs and, as well, support the deepening of meditation practice for us all.
