Dāna, (pronounced “DAH-nuh”), the Pali word for generosity, is a foundation for the development of compassion and wisdom.

The Buddha taught that practicing generosity is part of the path to awakening and different from the usual exchange of paying for a service or offering a tip. When developed and reflected upon, generosity brightens the mind and opens the heart.

Our Open Door Meditation Community depends on the generosity of its members. We invite you to make a donation or to become an ongoing benefactor to allow our teaching to be free for those unable to offer dana at this moment.
