When: First and third Wednesdays, starting 9/16, 7:00 - 8:00 pm
The study/book discussion group is open to Open Door mental health practitioners and will meet twice monthly to discuss books, such as The Mindful Therapist by Daniel Siegel or Trauma-Sensitive Mindfulness by David Treleaven, or articles by Willoughby Britton.
There will also be an opportunity to share thoughts and experiences* on how to best use meditation practices and integrate meditation into therapy in ways that might help clients.
*Please note: This is not a supervision group and individual client cases will not be reviewed or discussed.

Josh Kane is a psychiatrist and psychoanalyst in the Yarmouth area whose work centers on depth-oriented therapy and the ways we come to know our own minds. He's especially drawn to the intersection of meditation and psychotherapy — where contemplative practice and depth psychology meet, and what each has to teach the other. He's glad to be part of the Open Door community and looks forward to exploring these questions together through reading and conversation.
