In the Buddhist tradition, mettā, or loving-kindness, is one of the four brahmavihāras, the Divine Abodes. It is the quality of heart that offers intentional friendliness and goodwill toward ourselves, one another, and all beings.
Join us for a day of cultivating mettā through rest, meditation, gentle movement, embodied writing, and dialogue. Together we'll explore how mettā can help us feel more connected, settle our hearts and minds, and turn us away from hostility and toward goodwill.
What to bring: your lunch, a water bottle or mug, and a journal and pen. You're also welcome to bring anything that helps you feel at ease and present: favorite socks, a blanket, pillows, or any other items of comfort.
No previous meditation or retreat experience is necessary. All are welcome.
