Join us for a simple day of practice in the coastal woods, grounded in awareness and nature. The retreat will include guided and silent meditation, movement with awareness, and gentle invitations to attune to the natural world. There will also be time to wander, sit, and simply be on the land. Together we’ll explore what it means to be nature in nature – remembering that what is happening in the heart and mind is as natural as the rhythms of the forest and the sea.
This retreat is limited to 25 participants. We will open a waitlist once all spaces are filled.
What to bring:
Lunch, a snack, water bottle
Layers/gear for a range of weather conditions (we won’t have a rain date if it’s heavy weather, but might still meet if there is light rain. TBD).
Sturdy walking shoes
Something to sit on if you'd like something other than the ground (towel, blanket, camping chair, etc.)
Plan to carry in/out any personal gear
Location + Accessibility:
This retreat takes place on Chewonki land, about 50 minutes north of Portland. Carpooling will be helpful. Please let us know if you need/can offer a ride.
Getting to the location of our retreat requires walking 0.3 miles (about 15 minutes) on a relatively flat trail through the woods. We will gather at Chewonik’s guest parking lot and walk together to our location. A more detailed map and meeting instructions will be emailed after registration and prior to the daylong.
Note: There is a $15 use fee for Chewonki. Please send it to Susa via links below and put “Forest Retreat” in the description. Registration fee is non-refundable.
