Daylong Retreat on Dependent Origination: When This, That with Beau Demkar

The concept of dependent origination, which the Buddha described as "When this exists, that comes to be. When this does not exist, that does not come to be," points to suffering arising from conditions. When we no longer support those conditions, something shifts.

This day-long retreat, for practitioners of all levels, explores dependent origination through direct experience. We will work to untangle the habits of mind rooted in ignorance, craving, and clinging that give rise to stress and cultivate habits of ease.

The day includes sitting and walking meditation, relational practice, dharma talks, open discussion, as well as chanting and singing. No prior understanding of dependent origination is required as the teaching will unfold through practice.
