Topic: Lovingkindness: Exploring the Terrain of the Heart

Cultivating a friendliness toward and a wish for the wellbeing of all living beings is the intention of Lovingkindness or Metta (Pali) practice. We will explore the various ways one can practice Lovingkindness, as well as how it both differs from and is present in Vipassana practice.

Entering this terrain, we come in contact with a range of emotions and experiences that move through the heart – some pleasant and some unpleasant. We will explore how to open to and use all that arises as the raw material for both the Lovingkindness and Vipassana practices.
